Almedahls

Almedahls

The History of Almedahls started in Gothenburg in 1846. The businessman Hans H Wesslau got permission to establish a factory to make linen and damask. In 1919 a fusion of the two companies Almedahls and Dalsjöfors Wäfveri AB was made.
Dalsjöfors, on the west side of Sweden, was already in the 1800s a centre of textile merchandising.

In 1897 the textile company Dalsjöfors Wäfveri was established. It says that Dalsjöfors during a large period after the establishment was the most modern linen weaver company in the world.
In 1919 the company was purchased by Almedahls in Gothenburg and is seated in Dalsjöfors since 1958.
