Kalikå - Swedish soft toys in high quality Kalikå manufacture soft and cosy toys with long durability for the small hand and the curious mind. Kalikå design is synonymous with clear colors, imaginative and unexpected soft shapes, easy to grip, sometimes provocative and always durable! The first dolls and animals, designed in the sixties, has got children and grandchildren, a great family and many friends with several things in common – the colors, the shapes and the soft materials. All the toys are hand made by parents of children with functional disabilities in Russia. Through project “Fair play”, mothers can stay home and care for their children and at the same time support themselves. This provides an alternative to having to place the child in an orphanage, which sometimes has been the only alternative for many parents with low incomes in Russia. Today sixty women are sewing Kalikå toys in their homes. By establishing its production in Russia Kalikå can support a local venture in accordance with all the basic concepts for fair trade policies!
