Nordic Sea plates from Broste Copenhagen add rustic elements to your Easter table setting with the linen tablecloth from Himla.

Porcelain like Nordic Sea from Broste Copenhagen, seen here, gives a lovely rustic touch to your Easter table setting.

For a more minimalistic Easter table setting you can combine rustic porcelain with stainless steel cutlery, forget the tablecloth and add a linen napkin under the plate.

1. SET THE TABLE WITH A RUSTIC AESTHETIC

The absence of a more traditional Easter tablecloth allows this rustic Easter table setting to shine. Here a neutral tablecloth in rustic linen allows the darker blue tones of the porcelain from Broste Copenhagen to pop. If you are looking to create an Easter table setting with rustic elements, then simply combining rustic porcelain with a bare table or a neutral, linen tablecloth is the way to go. However, if you want your Easter table setting to really pop combine your rustic porcelain with elegant brass coloured cutlery for the perfect shabby / chic contrast (silver cutlery will give the table setting a more relaxed feeling).

The Tvis gold cutlery from Broste Copenhagen adds an elegant detail to your rustic Easter table setting.

Brass cutlery adds an elegant touch and really allows your rustic Easter table setting to “pop”.

2. DECORATE FOR EASTER WITH CARE – NAPKIN FOLDING

Easter is a playful holiday, so let your Easter table setting reflect that. Fold the cloth napkins into a pair of rabbit ears for a wonderfully playful atmosphere on your Easter table. You can fold the napkins in a moment with things you have at home, all you need are eggs, linen napkins and string.

To fold the napkin into a pair of rabbit ears:

1. Fold the linen napkin in the middle so you get a triangle. Keep the tip facing down and pointing towards you.
2. Roll the ends upwards towards the long side so that the linen napkin becomes a long “sausage”
3. Bend the roll in the middle and tie the ends together with a piece of string so you get to the rabbit ears.
4. Place the napkin on the plate and put an egg in the middle – and you’re done! If you want, you could also use the egg as a place card and write the name directly on the egg or why not draw a small rabbit face there?

A linen napkin from Broste Copenhagen can with a simple napkin fold become a pair of rabbit ears, a playful addition to your Easter table setting.

Replace the traditional Easter decorations and provide each plate with a creative napkin fold - here in the form of a pair of rabbit ears.

Another lovely little gesture that gives your Easter table setting an extra playful edge is to set the table with mini daffodils in egg cups. The egg cup from Nordic Sea is the perfect size and shape for a daffodil bulb.

3. USE FRESHLY CUT SPRING FLOWERS OR BRANCHES OF BLOSSOM ON YOUR EASTER TABLE

What would Easter be without the spring flowers? By highlighting nature in the form of a colourful tulip bouquet or discreet willow twigs, you can elegantly change the feeling of your Easter table setting. A more colourful bouquet picks up Easter pastels while a collection of twigs collected from the local forest or your garden gives you an Easter table setting in a more rustic and relaxed style.

A colourful bouquet of tulips stands on the table as a beautiful and natural decoration on a rustic Easter table setting.

A collection of tall twigs in Hammershøi vase adds height but also creates life on the table.

4. DECORATE THE YOUR EASTER TABLE WITH EGGS

No Easter table setting would be complete without Easter decorations. Beautiful ornamental eggs, together with real chicken eggs, plain or even dyed can be placed along the table as a symbol of the season - it does not have to be more difficult than that!

Naturally coloured eggs in the classic candlestick Stumpastaken is a playful tip for the Easter table setting.

Keep the decorations simple - place natural eggs on the table or do something more playful like placing them in a candleholder instead of candles.

Willow twigs and chicken eggs are beautifully simple decorations for the Easter table setting.

5. PLAY WITH HEIGHT AND CONTRASTS

A final tip for your Easter table setting is to play with height and contrasts. Try not to think too symmetrically but mix different heights on the table in terms of glasses, vases or decorations to get the right feeling. Contrasts in the form of colours and shapes are also elements to take advantage of when you want to get a rustic aesthetic that does not feel too “overdone”. By combining different heights and contrasting colours you can create an Easter table setting that feels as free and playful as the season itself.

Hammershøi glasses, ceramic eggs from Paradisverkstaden and a Design With Light pot create dynamic heights for your Easter table setting.

By using different heights on the table, you can create a dynamic the table setting. Glasses, vases or other objects all help to build on the height.
