Finlayson
With a story rooting back to 1820, Finlayson is one of Finland’s oldest textile producers. Since its beginning days, Finlayson’s vision has been to create soft, luxurious textiles in a sustainable manner.

Finlayson was founded by James Finlayson in the Tammerfors, Finland and was made up of one small cotton mill to start out with. The company was taken over by new owners 16 years later, who wanted to keep Finlayson’s, by now, renowned name, but adapted it slightly to Finlayson & Compagnie. They decided to open a new factory with modern machines and it didn’t take long before Finlayson became one of Scandinavia’s largest industrial businesses. Schools, a hospital, fire department, church and library were built, all to ensure the wellbeing of the factories’ workers. Finlayson was also one of Finland’s first companies to work towards offering women an independent life.

The genuine way of business lives on today. To this day, Finlayson still makes sustainability and responsibility the notions that are at the core of all decisions. In our assortment of Finlayson textiles, you will find bed sets, towels and pattern fabrics.
