The Advent window light Elflugan is a true classic in Scandinavia, found on window sills all around Sweden during the winter months. Here you can buy your original from 1997!
The history of the Elflugan began as a quick sketch on a napkin. The two friends Marie Lundgren-Carlgren and Kina Strandberg had met up for a cup of coffee and came up with the idea to create a modern version of the classic candlestick lights used as Christmas decoration all over Scandinavia. Three years later, the Elflugan was ready for production.
The name was inspired by the Swedish word for fireflies, “eldflugor”, as the 19 little lights on the Elflugan do indeed look like a swarm of fireflies. And it wasn’t only Marie and Kina that were looking for a modern version of the classic Christmas candlelight bows. The Elflugan was an immediate success and has been sold over 80 000 times.
