With Kateha you can find a whole collection of woven and tufted rugs that combine imaginative design with careful hand crafting techniques.
Kateha was started by Barbara Hosak in 1998. As the seventh generation of weavers in her family, it was natural that she would start her own company to create exclusive handmade rugs. The name Kateha comes from the old Arabic word, ‘Al katifa’ which means pile rug but Kateha is so much more than that. These collections are at the forefront of quality and design, resulting in both attention and awards.
Kateha has a unique ability and rich experience in textile production. The company has a close knit working community, producing rugs in both Europe and India to ensure all rugs are completed to the highest calibre. All rugs are hand woven, tufted or knotted by skilled craftsmen and women in natural material such as wool or flax.
