Ljungbergs has a rich experience in Swedish textile tradition and over the years they have built a solid collection of patterns. For over 60 years, they have printed exclusive fabrics with contributions from designers like Stig Lindberg and Viola Gråsten.
The story behind Ljungbergs dates back to 1948 when Erik Ljungberg started the company Ljungbergs Textiltryck AB in Floda, north of Gothenburg. He was one of Sweden's most skilled textile printers and an avid advocate of Swedish design tradition. For several years, he ran Ljungbergs Textiltryck together with his siblings but contributed far more than just the printing technique. Among other things, he developed unique fabric qualities that would give the patterns more character and feel.
Even today, Ljungbergs prints fabrics using traditional techniques in a factory outside Rydboholm, Sweden. They have a vision to preserve the collection of patterns that Ljungbergs built but they also collaborate with contemporary designers like Maria Åström. Their wide range offers everything from beautiful 1950’s patterns to prickly flowers and graphic lines. Made with respect to the environment and for our nature.
