Kähler is a Danish design brand with a long and charming history. Kähler’s history roots all the way back to 1839 when Herman Joachim Kähler opened up a pottery in the Danish town of Næstved. The pottery was later taken over by his sons, one of which was to make Kähler a household name. It was Herman August Kähler that started experimenting with shapes and different types of glazes, attracting numerous renowned designers to the pottery. The brand was in family possession for four generations.
With over 175 years of experience in traditional Scandinavian craftsmanship and design under the buckle, Kähler is today owned by the architect Frantz Longhi who has shaped Kähler to be the brand it is today. Kähler is best known for their ceramic assortment, such as vases, dinnerware and candleholders.
Kähler most famous range is the Omaggio range – a range of clean ceramic vases and candleholders with hand-painted stripes. The Omaggio vase has even become somewhat of a hallmark product for Kähler. Other iconic ranges include the Urbania and Hammershøi range.
