Stoneware and porcelain are both manufactured at extremely high temperatures, creating smooth and highly qualitative dinnerware. The main difference between the two is the material composition, resulting in a very opaque finish in the case of stoneware, and a milky-translucent finish in porcelain. Bone china is a variation of porcelain and due to a unique blend of materials can be used to create incredibly thin, milky-translucent porcelain that is more durable and chip resistant.
