Höganäs Keramik manufactures classic stoneware that are just as much part of the Swedish coffee break as a hearty cinnamon bun is.
About Höganäs Keramik
For over 100 years, Höganäs Keramik has helped enhance the classic Swedish coffee culture. And even though the coffee drinking habits have changed throughout the years, the classic Höganäs mug is still a symbol for a well-deserved break with a good “cuppa”.
In Sweden, taking the time to have a coffee with your co-workers every day is an integral part of the work culture and building strong ties and collaboration in a team. A usual coffee break includes a strong cup of coffee and a sweet pastry, and the Höganäs cups are a wonderful addition.
The brand Höganäs Keramik was founded in 1909 in the southern landscapes of Sweden. Höganäs Keramik started to manufacture products made of stoneware – a durable material that insulates heat well. Production started on a small scale but was quickly expanded to encompass other products beside cups, including plates, teapots and jugs.
Höganäs Keramik stoneware is easily recognized with its signature glaze in the five classic Höganäs colours. Today’s productions still have clear references to the original Höganäs Keramik cups, though the design has been modernised slightly in collaboration with the design studio, Font.
