1. PLAYFUL SHAPES

Interior design in 2023 has generally been much more playful, in contrast to the minimalist style of recent years. Just like the colour trends, we are looking for something new and so the design language has become much more playful this year. Check out the Lulu pouf from Design House Stockholm or the Paste vase from ferm LIVING - both are playful interpretations of classic interior accessories that will make you take a second look.

2. COLOUR ON COLOUR

You may have noticed the biggest theme for the autumn 2023 interior design trends is colour. Whether you're cheering it on or clutching your beige throw tightly refusing to let go, we're actually heading into a more colourful interior design era. Why? Well, because when we've been exposed to something long enough, we tend to get bored and want to move in the opposite. This spring and summer we've seen a lot of pink, neon green and orange but for autumn 2023, the colours below are the ones to go for!

3. MUSTARD!

The wonderful nostalgic vibes that permeate the autumn 2023 interior design trends take clear form in this beautifully retro shade of mustard yellow that finds its way into our interiors on everything from textiles to furniture.

Autumn 2023 interior design trends follow in the footsteps of colour, with a colourful rug, mustard-coloured throw and green-striped cushion all making an appearance in the room this autumn.

Dare to have a colourful and playful autumn and challenge your decor with pops of accents colours!

A beautiful shade of dark green is making its way into the autumn 2023 interior design trends and also into tableware. Here, Marimekko jugs and mugs in green.

4. SHADES OF GREEN

Is there a better complement to mustard yellow than a rich shade of green? The new arrivals for Autumn embraces this peaceful colour that evokes nature and brands such as Marimekko, &Tradition and Layered are showcasing a dark green shade in their new products in everything from table settings to rugs.

5. RED + BLUE

The most prominent colour trend of the year has undoubtedly been the combination of red and blue in interior design. This colourful trend continues among the interior design trends for autumn 2023. It is most easily adopted with smaller interior details, but for the brave design lover who wants to be at the forefront, it's time for larger interior pieces to be dyed red.

The PC Portable rechargeable lamp from HAY is right on trend for autumn 2023 with its colour combination of red and blue.

Vases and lanterns are ideal interior details that will quickly renew your home and also allow you to test out the latest trends. This year, coloured glass has received a boost and continues to stand strong in the autumn 2023 interior design trends. Among the season's new arrivals, we are also seeing an increase in glass vases in opaque designs. Check out Marimekko's new colours for Mini & Urna!
