Gense is the biggest manufacturer of cutlery made of stainless steel in the Nordics. With over 150 years of experience, Gense has perfected the art of manufacturing fine cutlery to a tee.
Gense was founded by Gustaf Eriksson in 1856 and went on to specialise in stainless steel cutlery in the 1920’s. The long history and experience in production has allowed Gense to master the art of cutlery design both in regards to material quality and design.
Gense has collaborated with a number of renowned designers, such as Monica Förster and Ingegerd Råman, to design cutlery sets that went on to become Scandinavian classics. Many of these collections are still in production today – side by side with new designs from more recent collaborations.
One of Gense’s all time classics is the Focus de Luxe range, designed by Folke Arström in 1955. Still a classic today, the set was even titled “one of the best 100 designed products of modern time”.
